HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL CORING

Brief Introduction

Horizontal directional coring is commonly used in steerable drilling with rock core retrieval along a planned trajectory of proposed tunnel alignment. It can provide steerable and continuous core samples along the tunnel alignment. The directional borehole can also be served as a pilot tunnel in the construction stage if the HDC was planned within the proposed tunnel.
